We have all heard that Ofsted are planning to change the way we are inspected, but consultation has not yet begun on this.
What we do know is that Ofsted will continue to inspect children's centres under the current framework until any changes are made and that they have indicated that they are still on schedule and will have inspected 100% of children's centres by the end of August 2015. This target will be an inspection under any of the Ofsted frameworks.
How many of you have a centre that has yet to be inspected?
With regards to the changes, we don't yet know what this will look like but there have been hints that we could be moving to a local authority level inspection of children's centres. If this is the case how would that impact on you? For many of us this would see a significant change in the way we are expected to report to the local authority and could lead to changes in the targets set and the level of scrutiny we are subjected to. This is of course all speculation until any consultation is released and plans are made explicit.
So, with imminent changes in mind, what do you think would be the best and most fair / reliable way to inspect children's centres?
