Not undergone OFSTED yet but a centre I work with has an excellent relationship with JCP. It took time to build, mainly through the CC beibng a presence in the job centre until relationships were forged with staff, but now 100% of families who access the job centre and have a child under 5 are referred to the CC for support. Upon receipt of a referal the families are contacted and their needs assessed using 'scored CAF' methodology. This thorough assessment highlights individual needs and families are then accurately signposted to the services which are best placed to support them - this may be services provided by the Centre, adult learning, wider community servies or partnership services.
The next stage in the journey is to follow up / track these families to gain deeper insight into the impact the referal has had on them. This can be done through re-scoring the CAF or through other tracking systems. This information will enable the centre to know what % of families have gone on to gain employment, engage in further education or training, recive support, advice and guidance etc.
Another centre I have supported has an excellent relationship wioth Citizens Advice. All workless households are fed directly into CAB who are able to provide comprehensive advice support and guidance for these families and have been able to provide evidence on the amount of additional finance that has been brought into each household as a direct result of the intervention.
